Library Policies and Procedures

Policies and procedures regarding borrowing, requests, access, and more.

Course reserves

We offer course reserve for books, articles, and A/V materials. Articles and A/V material can either be put on hard-copy reserve or posted on your course’s Canvas site. To reserve print or electronic items for your courses, please contact Aliyah Shanti.

If you'd like the library to add an item to its collections that supports a course you teach, the Curtis curriculum, or pedagogy in general, contact Pete Williams (peter.williams@curtis.edu).

Course Guides and library instruction

The library offers course-specific bibliographic instruction and resource guides for your class upon request. Our librarians have training and experience in a range of disciplines, from music history to performance to cultural studies. We can also offer help selecting and searching library resources, citing sources in a range of formats, as well as tips for searching the internet and critically evaluating search results (for any purpose). Contact the Director of the Rock Resource Center for more information or to set up a session.

We can also create a guide to library and web resources tailored to your specific course or topic. See our Libguides for examples of past course guides or contact a librarian for further information.
